[ELT611] Pedagogical/Communicative Grammar／口語文法教育論

This course is designed to help teachers of English in the EFL context enhance their understanding of English grammar and develop pedagogical approaches to teaching it. ELT 611 provides participants with opportunities to (1) instruct English grammar to high school students in Nara and Tokushima and (2) develop their pedagogical perspective on teaching grammar. In order to provide practicum sessions, the course also offers a two-time individual tutoring practicum experience where participants tutor high school students on topics of English grammar that have been covered in the course. Participants will develop their knowledge and teaching skills about teaching grammar in English through the practicum experience, activities, and class discussions.

[JLT616] Introduction to Japanese Language Teaching／日本語教育学概論

グローバル化の進展による、日本語学習者の多様化、日本語教育の拡大化などを踏まえ、高度な専門性を有する日本語教師に求められる資質と能力、及び態度の獲得を目指した内容となる。授業は講義形式と演習形式からなる。日本語教育一般に関する知識を歴史・言語・教育・社会・学習者等の視点から概観する。日本語教師に求められる専門知識を整理した上で、職業としての日本語教師の心構えと力量の形成のためのディスカッション、プレゼンテーションを行う。そのために積極的参加と協働作業が求められる。専門職大学院の特色及び修了要件にかかわる事項や手続きについても理解し、日本語教育が人づくり、社会づくりにどのように貢献できるのか、外国語としての日本語の教育実践の具体的方法論を学ぶ。当日は、『日本語教育の道しるべ』第 3 巻①（ことばの教え方）・第 1 章「外国語教授法」・第 2 章「コースデザイン」・第 3 章「文法の指導法（初級）」について学ぶ。

[JLT601] Japanese Pedagogical Grammar for Beginners Ⅰ／日本語教育初級文法Ⅰ

[GCP622] Communication and Organizational Behavior／コミュニケーションと組織行動論

Communicative activities take place in Japanese organizations in a manner consistent with the logic of Japan Inc. The former cannot be understood without good comprehension of the latter. This course surveys the mechanism of Japan Inc in a comprehensive way with the aim that both international and Japanese students will come to grasp the basic structure, patterns, and strategies of the way Japanese organizations operate. The focus will be on the communicative and the cultural logic of Japan Inc., the understanding of which is essential in leading a professional life in Japan.

[GCP629] Public Relations in a Global Context／グローバル環境におけるパブリックリレーションズ

This course focuses on four aspects of communication, namely, strategic communication, impact of culture, persuasion, and crisis communication. To better understand these aspects, this course utilizes case studies. The course consists of two main parts: lecture and discussion, and a group project. The lecture and discussion cover the following. 1) Factors specific to the management of public relations activities in global organizations, 2) strategic aspects of public relations, 3) impact of culture upon public relations practice in a global setting, and 4) crisis communication.
